Almost every indoor floor question is one question: where does the give sit?
Put the give in the structure and the surface stays stiff, so the ball comes back and the foot does not sink. Put it at the surface as well and the floor is kinder to stand on, but it absorbs ball response and it resists a pivoting foot. That one distinction decides more specifications than any star rating does, and it decides them in both directions.

Wooden floors are identified as Area Elastic Floors - the floor has a wide area of deformation when put under pressure. It is what every ball-sport system in the range is built on, and it is rated very suitable for basketball, badminton, handball, futsal, gymnastics and dance alike.

The only build in the range rated very suitable for tennis, and the only one rated unsuitable for dance. Right under a plank in a fitness studio, wrong under a pivoting dancer. The manufacturer marks both, on the same page.

Six spaces, and the thing about each one that is not obvious.
A space is a room, not a project. Each one starts from what the room is for, scores the range against the sports it actually serves, and ends with the system we would specify and the ones we would not. The reasoning is the product.
Ballet room
A dance studio with a mirror wall, a barre and an existing threshold.
A ballet floor wants sprung, not soft.
Rated very suitable for dance, and at 32 mm it is the lowest solid-hardwood build in the range. In a retrofit with an existing threshold and a mirror wall, build height settles the choice before performance is discussed.

A school or community hall: sport in the morning, assembly in the afternoon, a concert on Saturday.
The manufacturer’s own recommendation contradicts the manufacturer’s own ratings.
Ties at the top of the hall score, carries EN 14904 class A4 with both a FIBA licence and BWF Grade 1, and its standard load class is exactly what KTL define a hall to need.

Moving up the range moves you off the certification.
BWF Grade 1 and rated very suitable for badminton. Its one weakness, standard load, is irrelevant to a sport with no seating trolleys and no staging trucks.

Aerobic and fitness are the only two sports of eighteen that KTL never rate very suitable.
For yoga and mat work: rated very suitable, 32 mm, and the lightest load case in the range is the one this room actually presents.

Portability is not the expensive part.

six of the nine are rated very suitable for basketball and eight of the nine for badminton, so the sport rating is rarely what chooses. Load class, build height and which federation licence a system actually holds are what choose.

Load reads High or Standard for both point and rolling load. Standard is not a lesser floor, it is a different load case, and in a school hall it is the correct one. In an arena carrying telescopic seating it is not.
Certification is per system, and it is the gate.
FIBA approval carries a licence number against a named system, so a floor either has one or it does not, and a manufacturer’s membership is not a substitute. Where a certificate exists we quote the number. Where it does not, we say so rather than implying one.
Badminton is the case in point. BWF Grade 1 International Elite appears on three systems and is stated as those words, with no certificate reference anywhere in forty pages. We ask for it. We do not print one that has not been issued.

What the catalogue does not contain.
The manufacturer published a marketing catalogue, not a datasheet. Every page of it was read and the absences below were recorded rather than assumed away, because on a floor specification the missing number is usually the one that decides something. None of these gaps stops a floor being specified. All of them go on the enquiry.
- Any price, rate, budget figure, MOQ, incoterm or lead time.
- Panel dimensions and weights for the portable systems - 'light weight panels' is the only statement.
- Board widths other than the 22x130 mm quoted on the fixed-system detail pages.
- Per-species technical properties.
- Shock absorption / vertical deformation / ball-rebound VALUES - only the EN 14904 class letters.
- Warranty terms beyond '10 years on the 7-layer UV coating at normal wear and tear' (p8).
- Maintenance and cleaning regime - listed as a choosing factor on p3 but never covered.
- Any statement about slab moisture, DPM or Thai tropical-humidity slab conditions; KTL's moisture story is entirely board-side (customised moisture content, back-lacquered boards).
That includes price. There is no rate, no budget figure and no lead time anywhere in the document, so there is none on this site either. Any number here would be ours rather than the manufacturer’s, and a floor is not something to guess at.
